A Most Memorable Balloon Game
Every child loves a good balloon game and it’s always fun to learn a new activity. Combine these two for memorable parties and get someone to teach your guests the fine art of making balloon animals. Not only is this fun and almost free, but groups of any size can learn how to make really great balloon animals, with the added bonus of having their creation to take home. Making the balloon animals can range from quite simple to very challenging. Get an expert to teach the kids the basics and allow plenty of time for trial and error.
The goofier the balloon animals turn out, the more fun the kids will have. So, don’t let anyone be afraid of failure. Tell them that they are all capable of making the simple balloon “snake” or “worm” and several of them will take the challenge and make complicated creatures that you wouldn’t want to meet up with in a dark alley. It’s a great group activity, but should be a learning experience and a chance to experiment, not a competition. Have many, many extra balloons on hand, and allow the children to take some extras home so they can teach their other friends how to make the animals, too.
Pop Goes the Weasel
If you are dealing with very young children, be ready with extra balloons and additional balloon animals, just in case the artistic creation pops. Keep it fun and make it about the process, not the results. When commenting on these creations, it is often best to ask what kind of animal it is, instead of assuming. Have the kids make up stories about their creations from the magical land where balloon animals run wild. Everyone will learn a new activity and have a great time.
