If you would like to throw a get together around this time, it certainly doesn’t have to be a Halloween party, there are many other fall harvest themes that you can use.

If you are planning a fall harvest party of some sort, your party planning should be the same as for any other party. Decorations and other party supplies are key in making your party an event and not just another weekend night where friends meet up.

What Kind of Decorations Suit a Harvest Party?

The most well-known decoration for fall is the horn of plenty. You can also find some great dried and colored corn husks and gourds to decorate your house with. While these aren’t necessarily good to eat, they certainly make quaint decorations and really bring the feeling of fall into your home. These decorations are especially nice in states where fall is not so noticeable. Just because the fall leaves aren’t changing to yellow and orange doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy the new season.

Be sure to have plenty of savory foods at your fall harvest party. Use plenty of spices in your appetizers such as sage and rosemary. You can also move towards richer foods since most of us eat more in the fall. Baked brie with cranberry sauce is always a hit. Corn on the cob makes great fall party food as well. If you’re having a fall harvest dinner party be sure to include a lovely squash soup as a starter.
