Frat Parties That Keep You Out of TroubleAre you planning this year’s frat parties? Want to be sure they are up to code? Don’t want a police officer knocking at your door to break up the party? Follow these simple tips and your frat party will be crime-free and still a great time. Like any college party, fraternity parties have the potential to be either a lot of fun or a total bust. These days, colleges, universities, and local police are becoming more vigilant about preventing underage drinking at parties on and off campus. You’ll want to cover your tracks and be discreet, or best of all, make sure only people of age drink at your college parties. Just give those younger frat boys some balloon helium and stamp their wrists for accountability. Things to Keep in MindWhen you send out party invitations, try to de-emphasize the degree of booze that will be there. An invitation is a document in black and white that may tip off someone to stop by to visit your frat party and look for any problems. When hosting a beach party, know the regulations in your area for open containers of alcohol. Above all, designate some sober drivers ahead of time for each party. Rotate around the fraternity so everyone gets a turn sometime that college year. Pay attention to the noise level at your parties. Have as much fun as you want, but if you disturb any neighbors or have people hanging out the windows, your party is sure to end prematurely. Have plenty of party food around. That will divert some attention from the alcohol as the only activity and help everyone absorb alcohol more slowly as they drink. Be smart in planning and carrying out your parties, and have fun.
