Wanted: Free Party Games and IdeasA child’s birthday party doesn’t have to break your budget if you are creative and seek out some free party games. Homemade activities are often cheaper and fit better with a party theme because they can be totally customized. Take an old standby like Pin the Tail on the Donkey and change it to fit your child’s party theme. If it’s a princess party, you can play Pin the Crown on the Princess. If your theme is Sponge Bob Square Pants, you don’t need to buy all of the expensive character items, just draw Sponge Bob on some poster board and play Pin the Smile on Sponge Bob’s Face. Free and handmade means you can be as creative as you want, and you won’t have to search party stores high and low for all of the matching party theme supplies. Free games and activities can include artistic endeavors for the guests. Make and take crafts are perfect for the little ones and you don’t have to spend money on party favors if they make their own. Just stock up on some simple art supplies, then explain and supervise the craft creating. Simple games can include prizes for the funniest drawing or silliest balloon animal. Have enough prizes so that every child feels like a winner. Let the Games BeginAs soon as your guests walk in the door, have some fun activity ready for them to begin. You may put up a large sheet of butcher paper and ask the kids to draw an array of presents or birthday cakes, or even something related to your party’s theme. Once everyone arrives, let the games begin. Follow the more active games with present opening and finish up with birthday cake for all.
