Greeting Cards Birthdays Can be Fun, InexpensiveAre you wondering how to surprise a co-worker without going overboard or do you want to plan a low-key birthday party for a favorite Aunt? Greeting cards birthdays can be meaningful and fun. Use greeting cards as both the theme and the focus of the party. For the birthday party invitations, surprise your guests (and get their attention) by sending them an actual birthday card. You can find discount cards online or make your own custom invitations from free invitation templates. Inside the invitation card, write something like this: “Surprise! I know it’s not your birthday, but it is Jill’s. We’ll be surprising her with a greeting card party in the break room on Tuesday at 10:00 a.m.” You can keep the card party pretty informal. If it will be held at the office, keep the party food simple. Hang a ribbon or string above the guest of honor’s desk so she can display the cards she receives. You can also bring a scrapbook, or scrapbook pages for the greeting cards to be placed in. Focus on Certain Types of CardsIf you know the birthday guy or gal has a favorite interest or hobby, invite people to bring greeting cards related to that theme. If Bob loves golf, ask people to bring birthday cards about golf. If Jill loves chocolate, use that as the greeting card theme. Instead of giving Aunt Sarah the Corvette she wants, give her cards with pictures of the car she covets. You can also give guests some direction into the type of birthday card to choose. You might ask them to focus on humorous cards or cards from a certain line like Hallmark’s Maxine series. It will be fun to see how many different cards (or how many of the same) the guest of honor receives. If you have time at the party, have the guest of honor read the birthday cards and pass them around for others to enjoy. Related Articles
