Fall is Time to Harvest Party Ideas
As autumn approaches, you may start thinking about harvest party ideas. The cooler air and colorful leaves on the trees make October a great time for a fall get-together. Halloween and Thanksgiving are both popular holidays in autumn to celebrate, but you needn’t limit yourself, for our forefathers knew fall was a great time to celebrate the harvests and prepare for the coming winter weather.
Autumn party ideas can be quite varied. You may want to go out to a local pumpkin patch or apple orchard. This is great on a cool, crisp autumn day. A hayride, followed by a bonfire is a great way to warm up a cool fall evening.
Most of these ideas are relatively inexpensive and can be great fun for the entire family. Make your autumn celebrations a sharing time for your family, and pass on great fall recipes and crafts. Fall activities are especially appreciated because of the long winter that may follow. Get out and enjoy the harvest, pick some apples, carve some pumpkins, and decorate your home with some inexpensive cornstalks and hay bales for a super autumnal look and feel.
Unique Fall Gatherings
An autumn party is also a great alternative to the many holiday gatherings that will soon follow. There are no set expectations when you plan a harvest party and so the focus of your party is really on the guests, not a specific holiday or special traditions.
Other great fall activities for old and young alike include raking leaves into big piles. An autumn walk through the woods to look at the brightly colored leaves is also a special way to spend quality time with your family and it doesn’t cost a thing.
