Making Great Hawaiian Invitations for Your Tropical Party
Summer is a great time for backyard parties. Food cooked on the grill, drinks with pretty umbrellas and lots of fruit and ice cream just scream summer. Start your theme by making some great Hawaiian invitations, and you’ve got a colorful beginning to a fun beach party.
Start by visiting your local discount party supply store for cards or other stationary. The possibilities are endless, and you can do as much or as little of the card creation as you like. For example, you can buy invitations already decorated with a Hawaiian theme, and simply print them from your computer, or you can buy blank stationary in the color of your choice and print and decorate them yourself. Colored markers and stickers make great embellishments for plain invitations. Just be sure to do the printing first, so as not to ruin the stickers.
Keep your overall theme in mind when making your invitations. For example, why not include leis in each envelope and ask your guests to wear them to the party? This way, your guests already have a great idea of what the evening has in store, and can come dressed in appropriate beach attire. Also consider asking your guests to bring some food that fits in with your overall theme. You might be surprised at how creative your friends can be!
Once the party starts, there are many ways to keep your theme going. Come up with some fun games, such as a hula contest, to keep your guests occupied. Carry your theme through to tableware, menu and party favors. Beach themed drink glasses that your guests can take home make a great remembrance of your evening. These can be purchased inexpensively through online party retailers. You can even have them customized with the date and other info from your party. Use your imagination, and plan a night to remember!
