Personalized Favors - Creative Ideas for Unique Party Favors

If you want to add an extra special touch of elegance to your party, favors can pack a big punch. And if you really want to go all out, personalized favors will make a great impression on your guests. With some creative party planning, you can find lots of ideas for creating a personal memento of your wonderful evening.

To decide on your favors, first come up with your theme. This will dictate all of your decisions for the evening. Your theme will give you an idea of the type of favor you should provide, as well as how formal it will be and what type of personalization you can give the items. For a more formal event, you might want a very traditional favor, where something more low key may work better for a more casual evening.

Some favor ideas will require that you know your guests very well, but can make a great impression. For example, I attended a bridesmaid’s luncheon where the bride provided homemade candles to each of her bridesmaids. But what made this favor so wonderful was that she had personalized each candle for the recipient.

Each candle was colored to match the recipient’s kitchen, and scented with her favorite fragrance. Not only was it an enjoyable and functional favor, but also we were all very impressed that our friend knew our tastes so well. Now this type of favor would be a lot of work, and a fair amount of expense for a large group of people, so it is probably better for a small gathering of a few close friends.

For larger gatherings, you might try having some memento monogrammed with each couple’s last initial. Homemade candies in a glass jar etched with each couple’s initial are a great remembrance. Another great way to use monogrammed glass is on wine glasses. Serve each guest in a personalized wine glass that they can take home as a gift at the end of the evening.

Another personalized memento that is not difficult or expensive is photo frame place cards. You can buy the same place card holder for everyone, but insert a picture of each guest into one frame. This is a great way to communicate your seating arrangement as well as share some of your favorite photos.
