Fun Pirate Party Ideas that Your Young Pirates Will Love

A pirate party is a great idea for a children’s birthday party. You can give every child fun party hats and even an eye patch so they can get in on the fun. Most little boys (and some girls!) love to pretend that they’re pirates. You could even make the party a costume party and have the kids come dressed up as pirates, not just the hat and eye patch. Kids love to dress up and having them come as pirates will be as fun as Halloween.

Kids parties are especially fun for little ones when the party has some sort of theme. Start off by having your birthday party invitations fit into the theme. You should have no problems finding pirate invitations at your local party supply stores. If you can’t find pirate invitations that you like, there are plenty of pirate invitations online that you design and print off at home.

Decorations to Make a Pirate Feel at Home

Decorations will really make the pirate theme complete. Your local party store probably has banners and streamers that will go with the pirate theme. You could also put chocolate gold coins on tables and a few stuffed parrots. Be sure to have plenty of fun games for the kids to play. While these don’t necessarily have to have a pirate theme you could have them play pin the peg on the pirate rather than pin the tail on the donkey. Just be a little creative and modify party games you already know.

Party food shouldn’t be too creative since kids have simple tastes and if you try some new culinary delights they may not be interested. Stick to pizza, hot dogs, or hamburgers. You can go all out with the cake though. A pirate cake will be the perfect finale to your pirate themed party.
