School Halloween Party Ideas for Your Children

If you are helping to plan a Halloween party at school, you’ll want to throw a fabulous party for the children to enjoy. But coming up with some great school Halloween party ideas may seem difficult. Also, some schools don’t celebrate Halloween, so you may need to come up with some harvest party ideas instead. Whichever party you are planning, you’ll need to come up with plenty of activities to keep the kids amused.

Children love to dress up for Halloween, so why not have a costume contest. Have plenty of different categories such as “funniest costume” and “most creative”. Let the kids have a parade through the school to show off their costumes. If the Halloween party is only taking place in the afternoon you may want to send the kids home at lunch of get changed into their outfits.

School Halloween parties don’t require a lot of food, but a few snacks are a nice idea. If you are helping to organize you can either take on the task of making cakes and cookies yourself, or enlist the help of all the parents. Send a note home with each child asking their parents to bring a few snacks. If you think this will be too much food remember that not everyone will be able to bring something and the children can always take leftovers home.

Have the children create the decor for their own party. If it’s a Halloween party you can have the kids draw the scariest Halloween character they can think of. At a harvest party the kids can draw horns of plenty or colorful leaves. This is a great activity for the morning hours before the party.

Most school parties only last several hours, but have a few fun games prepared for the kids to play.
