Thanksgiving Decorations to MakeEveryone probably remembers making a turkey in grade school by tracing your hand on construction paper. There are countless other Thanksgiving decorations that you and your family can make. When decorating for Thanksgiving, you can create wreaths and centerpieces of dried autumn leaves, pumpkins and gourds. Other party decorations can include simple pilgrim hats and you can create your own place cards for the invited guests with a colorful mixture of fall leaves or the standard turkey. If you are hosting a party, you may want to make or purchase some Thanksgiving invitations to send. Party supplies can be made or bought for this holiday and you should decide on a formal or informal theme. A formal Thanksgiving party might feature fancy invitations, elegant party favors, a beautiful fall floral arrangement for a centerpiece and a table set with your best china and crystal. A more informal setting could include those grade school era turkey decorations and plenty of construction paper leaves, and maybe even a cake in the shape of a pilgrim’s hat! Thanksgiving menus are often the most traditional meal of the year, but you can spice up the holiday with some new decorations or by inviting new friends to join your celebration. Giving ThanksA wonderful way to keep kids and adults involved in Thanksgiving activities is to play some simple games. A version of the alphabet game can be adapted for Thanksgiving, and can be fun for young and old. Go around the room with the first person saying “I am thankful for (blank)” and the blank must start with the letter “A”. The next person repeats what the first person said, then adds something they wish to give thanks for that begins with “B”. Each person then repeats all of the previous items, before adding their own.
